How these Savings are Calculated

Cost savings per event

Using the number of attendees and printouts you’d inputted as well as the cost of programs, binders and totes, we calculated this total and subtracted $399 - the price of a Yapp event app. Your savings will be lower if you go with a costlier app.

Trees saved per event

Making paper requires sacrificing trees. These calculations are for A4 paper which, as per Conservatree, utilizes .00012% of a tree per sheet. If you use a different stock of paper, the savings will be slightly different.

Reduction in CO2 emissions released per event:

The production of each piece of A4 paper releases .000075 tons of CO2  emissions into the atmosphere.This adds up quickly as your event size increases.

Time savings per event

To get to the amount of time saved, we used the average time it takes to build a Yapp event app: Merely 5 hours. Many Yapp clients report being able to make an app in minutes! The time savings may be less depending on the app provider you choose.

Water conserved per event

According to The World Counts, 10 liters of water produces 1 sheet of A4 paper - equivalent to 5 days of drinking 8 glasses of water. This wastage increases with higher stock paper.

Getting to total savings on all events

If your events are roughly the same, simply multiply the above savings per event by the number of events. If they vary, simply input the information for each event and aggregate the savings.
